BENEFITS

Rebound Therapy uses the gentle, supported movement of a trampoline to create an engaging and motivating therapeutic experience. Led by a trained practitioner and tailored to each child’s individual abilities and goals, it can support balance, coordination, core strength, body awareness and motor planning while providing valuable vestibular and proprioceptive sensory input. Activities can also encourage communication, social interaction, attention, emotional regulation and confidence. Most importantly, Rebound Therapy offers children a fun, child-led way to experience movement, build new skills and enjoy a sense of achievement.

Why use Rebound Therapy?

Rebound Therapy offers a fun and highly motivating way for children and young people to work towards their individual therapeutic goals. The trampoline creates opportunities for movement, play and connection that can be adapted to suit a wide range of needs and abilities. Because activities are engaging and responsive to each child, Rebound Therapy can encourage participation while supporting physical development, sensory processing, communication, emotional regulation and confidence. It is particularly valuable for children who may find traditional therapy environments challenging, providing a positive space where they can explore movement, develop skills and experience success at their own pace.

Who is Rebound Therapy suitable for?

Rebound Therapy is suitable for all children and adults but can include:

  • Mild to severe physical disabilities

  • Mild to profound learning disabilities

  • Sensory processing difficulties

  • Neurodivergent children

  • Those looking to build motor skills, coordination, and confidence in movement.

NDIS

Rebound Therapy may support NDIS participants to work towards individual goals relating to movement, coordination, sensory regulation, communication, social participation, confidence and independence. Self-managed and plan-managed participants may be able to use their NDIS funding for sessions when the service relates to their disability, aligns with the funded supports and goals in their plan, and meets current NDIS funding requirements. As every plan is different and funding is not automatic, families should confirm that Rebound Therapy can be claimed through their plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIA before commencing.
